Colonel Family of the Year
A Family Weekend tradition includes recognizing the EKU Family of the Year. The 2016 Family of the Year was the McMath family. Molly McMath is a Senior studying nursing (pictured center). She was joined on the Roy Kidd Stadium football field at halftime by parents Jayne and Rob, and siblings Timmy, Robbie, and Sarah, an EKU '11 almuni. This was the McMath family's seventh EKU Family Weekend.
"What my family has loved most about participating in Family Weekend over the years is it's really just a fun time to get to spend and do fun things together like play Bingo or go to the football game! We have a big family so we aren't always together all the time, and we live in different places, but Family Weekend has always been a way for us to come together," said Molly.
The McMath family were presented with the Family of the Year gift Basket from the EKU Bookstore, presented by Dr. Laurie Carter, Executive Vice President for Student Success and University Counsel (pictured right).
An EKU family member must attend the Family Weekend Picnic to be eligible to win.
