Explore Richmond

The greater Richmond community is home to many historical sites and family-friendly activities. Please see below some of the potential opportunities you could make a part of your EKU Family Weekend experience, or to a campus visit throughout the academic year. Golf at Arlington

Play EKU’s private and challenging 18-hole championship golf course at the Arlington Club. Call the Pro Shop at (859) 622-2207 for tee times and green fees.

Fort Boonesborough State Park

4375 Boonesboro Road
Tour Fort Boonesborough, a reconstruction of the fort built by Daniel Boone and early settlers, with cabins, blockhouses and furnishings. Living History interpreters in 18th century clothing present life skills and daily tasks of the frontier. Visit the Fort Boonesborough website for further information.

Galaxy Bowling

Enjoy a game of Bowling with your family at Richmond’s “Galaxy Bowling and Entertainment Center!” Up to six people per lane can bowl for $10 plus shoe rental. White Hall State Historic Site

500 White Hall Shrine Road
Tour White Hall-Clermont, the restored Italianate mansion that was home to Cassius Marcellus Clay: emancipationist, newspaper publisher, Minister to Russia and friend to Abraham Lincoln. Costumed guides will share with you the historical treasures of White Hall, built in 1798, and the Clay family. It is honored through the EKU Journalism Department and the Society of Professional Journalists as a Historic Site in Journalism. Visit the White Hall website for more information.

Adventure Falls Miniature Golf Lake Reba Recreational Complex

250 Reba Drive
This 18-hole course features a 9-hole ADA accessible course, challenging holes and water obstacles. The main attraction at this facility is the 40 foot waterfall system with an overlooking deck. Richmond Skate Center
